I've built every one of my outfits lately around these boots. I know, I have WAY too many clothes if I can find multiple ensembles to match a pair of velvet, floral boots. I think what I love most about this pair is that they're so full of contradicting elements -- a strange combination of old world and new; summer and winter; whimsy and punk. At first, I wanted to make them more narrow but I've grown to love the way they're somewhat Shetland pony-ish / Attilla the Hun-ish. I've always thought wearing something slightly weird/off putting and making it look good (?) is far more admirable than wearing something obviously and unobjectionably "cool."
